The problem

Every PR service faces the same bind. To promise placement you have to own the destination, because a third-party editor can always decline. But if the destination exists only to absorb paid placements, nobody reads it, nobody trusts it, and the placement you just guaranteed is worthless. The guarantee destroys the thing it was guaranteeing. That is why link-farm distribution is cheap and real PR is expensive, and why almost nobody sits in between. Choice For Music UK had to serve two audiences at once without either undermining the other: music fans looking for genuine coverage of emerging hip-hop, afrobeats, reggae and R&B artists, and artists seeking editorial placement they can actually be proud of.

What we did

Choice For Music UK is a working publication first — its own artist features and music editorial, published on its own schedule. It is also the placement endpoint for music releases approved through PromoBoost.

Inbound releases are formatted and routed automatically into the site’s genre architecture, so nothing is re-keyed between platforms. A person then confirms editorial fit before a release is placed. Not everything that pays gets in.

That single control is what stops an owned destination degrading into a link farm, and it is the reason a placement here still carries weight. The architecture keeps editorial and paid placement clearly separated, so the site earns its own organic traffic while giving PromoBoost a delivery promise that depends on no third party.
